Breakfasts Are An Important Meal

Breakfasts are by far the most important meal of the day; after sleeping all night our bodies need fuel to get through the day. Whether you have eggs and bacon or a healthy fruit smoothie, it is important that you have something for breakfast.

There are some people that skip breakfast, you may be one of them. This is a bad habit, no matter what the reason. People tend to skip breakfast when they feel like they need to lose some weight or if they are in a hurry, but on those days, you will find that you do not have the energy to make it to lunch and tend to eat an unhealthy snack mid-morning. There are some healthy recipes that can make skipping breakfast unnecessary.

There are many fast food chains that offer breakfast; and going through the drive-thru saves time and effort, but these may not be the healthiest breakfast choices. Although many love a sausage and egg biscuit with hash browns, it is ok to splurge once and a while, especially when in a hurry.

Sometimes people get into a breakfast rut, and eat the same thing every day. For instance, some people eat a bowl of oatmeal and a glass of milk every morning in the winter and a carton of yogurt and a glass of milk in the summer. Some people just know what they like, I guess.

Weekends are a great time to have a family breakfast; families sometimes love to have brunch around lunchtime on Saturday or Sunday. Everyone gathers in the kitchen or at a restaurant, ordering pancakes or waffles and bacon with cheesy scrambled eggs; or sometimes homemade biscuits and country ham.

Going out for breakfast can be fun; and I am not talking about the drive-thru. Sometimes it is nice to go out and have a decadent breakfast with friends or family to eat eggs benedicts. It is always nice to have something delicious that you did not have to cook or clean up after.

Sometimes it is hard to get the children to eat a healthy breakfast before school; there are many easy and healthy recipes that you can try. Peanut butter or cheese toast may be their favorite. They can take it with them if they tend to move slow in the morning.

Whether you choose a carton of yogurt or eggs and bacon, just remember that it is important to choose healthy recipes.. Without breakfasts, you do not have the energy to meet the challenges of the morning, and when you are hungry, it is an awfully long time until lunch.
