One Look That Will Grow With Your New Baby
When you find out you are pregnant many emotions go through your head. You then realize you’ll need to decorate a baby room for your new bundle of joy. Finding out the sex is the first step usually when choosing a theme for the new baby. Why not design a nursery which will grow with your child up into their teen years so there isn’t anymore remodeling needing to be done every few years? Try not to choose pastel colors since they may not fit to well once your child is older.
The nursery is not going to be a nursery forever, so pick a theme that can be easily changed. Try a theme like the night sky. It is easy to do and can be used along with many themes. First paint the walls a dark blue. Then add smoky gray clouds in by ragging (using a wadded up rag to dab) on a medium gray paint in a circular pattern. Add glow in the dark stars and you have a night time sky. How do you make this look nice in a baby’s room? Well it is all about the accessories. For a nursery you should add a bed time theme.
For decor in the nursery to being with, try bears and moon silhouettes. If you are able to find decor for “the cow jumped over the moon,” that would fit the theme wonderfully for their younger age.
The carpet may be the focal point, especially once your child is on the go. You want to choose one which is soft and comfortable since they’ll spend most of their time on the floor. Try a dark blue rug to tie the sky theme in and also in case of any accidental spills that may occur.
As your child grows so will their interests. Liven up the room according to your child’s style by cheaply making a few small changes. A good way to liven up the bed time themed room for a child is to take out the dark blue rug and add a rug with a map of the solar system. You could add a rug covered in constellations or one that featured the planets. You can hang more stars from the ceiling and give the room a science based theme that will be more appealing for an older age group.
The teenage stage is usually the pickiest stage. Of course they know what they want no matter what you want to do with the room. Try introducing them into the black light. You can purchase paint which will reflect the awesome colors under this lighting and also great decor to add in their room.
Make sure to choose wall color or a theme which can grow with your child. You don’t want to end up painting the room every couple of years because their ideas and likings change. Try to choose a basic color or theme that you can add and remove decor to create a different look for your child. This is a very inexpensive way to make a room last many years.
