Finding Quality Television Stands
You can possibly relate to a scene that was very relevant to me recently. I walked over to my nearest electronics retail store and purchased a brand new LCD screen television. I loaded it in the back of my car and looked forward to its shiny new presence in my home.
When I got it home I took it out of the box and all of its packaging. I also unwrapped the free stand that came with it and set the whole thing up in the corner of my living room. I then stepped back to enjoy the look of my new purchase.
Unfortunately, it looked absolutely awful. Although the television was stylish and had a great picture quality, the stand that came with it was so cheap looking and seemed to be made of a cheap plastic or MDF.
It was at that instant I realized why I got the TV stand for free; it was a piece of crap and probably cost them absolutely nothing to make it.
Faced with this rather ugly piece of furniture, I decided to see if I could find something better. I really wanted a TV stand that was plenty strong to hold my television without worrying if it would collapse, but also looked trendy.
This seemed like a fairly simple request. It did not seem like I would need to spend a lot of money or buy anything particularly crazy.
As I wandered round the shops and looked at a number of websites, I realized that my request must have been something out of the ordinary. It quickly became clear that 90 percent of retailers specialize in selling cheap TV stands, while I was really looking for something with a little better quality.
I didn’t want an item of furniture was mass produced. If it was owned by another dozen people in the street where I lived then it wasn’t something that I’d want in my living room.
Tracking down something that was individual, strong and had a real contemporary design wasn’t easy but I did eventually find a manufacturer making cabinets that met my requirements.
A company called Spectral seems to specialize purely in quality TV stands. Although they’re not cheap, they are clearly built to a high standard.
I am now the proud owner of a Spectral Television stand and it looks fantastic. Almost as great as my television set!
