Hard water is a common problem, especially for those that have well water. Although hard water usually contains magnesium and calcium, it is not really dangerous to people, but it can cause you to have build up in your plumbing pipes over time that reduces the water flow through them. It can cause cleaning sinks, faucets, tubs and toilets to be more difficult because of the crusty residue that accumulates. Although the long term affects of this next issue is not fully known, it can not be good. When people take drugs, and we know there are a lot of various drugs consumed in this country alone every single day, those drugs are discarded in human waste and flushed down the toilet. Even water treatment facilities admit that not all of the drugs are removed during water treatment, but the amounts are supposed to be very small at this point. The point is however, how long will it take before there are so many drugs like antibiotics, sex hormones, mood stabilizers and even more simple things like Ibuprofin and aspirin, that become so present that they do cause problems?
